Jerry Stones' brother had always been a little wild, it seemed as though he was always in trouble. However, this time his wildness got him killed. He became involved with a secret organization that promoted gunfights between their champions. Jack had been duped into going up against a professional killer who ultimately shot him down in cold blood.

Now his killer was going to pay. Jerry swore that he would find someone to teach him how to use a gun and he would avenge his brother, even if it meant that he might be killed in the process. Jerry had never even held a gun, but he had to avenge his brother, no matter what the cost.

I guess if the truth be known, we, as Fast Draw artists portraying the gunfighters of the old west, have at one time or other thought about what it would be like to stand up in front of another man in a real gunfight. The Last Man Standing is based on that concept. Some of the persons portrayed in the book may appear to resemble someone you know, but the characters are all fictional.

The sequel to the Last Man standing is at the publishers, which is a new twist on man-against-man competition. The fastest man is not always the last man standing.
